ELM Schools Chess Open Championship

The inaugural edition of the ELM Schools Chess Open Championship took place this weekend with the participants being drawn from various campuses of ELM Schools. The top performers were awarded a complimentary dinner card at Zaman Cafe & Grill which also played as the host of the competition.

Mr. Timothy Ochoko, the Chess Club patron, congratulated the players on the dedication and sportmanship that they displayed during the competition and even in the run up to the event. He implored the players to market the club amongst their peers and recruit more players.

He commended the teachers who accompanied the students and helped in officiating. He also expressed immense gratitude to the School Chairman for facilitating the event insisting that the school administration plans to have an even grander second edition of the competition in the next academic year.
